Έχω από τον προπαππού μου το πινέλο της φωτογραφίας όπου δεν γράφει τίποτα πάνω. Χρονολογία κάπου το 1930 καθώς ξέρω ότι συνοδευόταν με μία Gillete (την οποία ακόμα ψάχνουμε που είναι )
Ίσως είναι ασβός ίσως και άλογο. Αν κάποιος φίλος γνωρίζει κάτι θα ήμουν ευγνώμων!
Ασβός φαίνεται να είναι .
Ωστόσο,η λαβή φαίνεται πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα.
Αν δεν κάνω λάθος ,είναι κατασκευασμένη
από φατουραν .
Το φατουράν είναι φαινολικό πολυμερές,
όπως ο βακελίτης ,το καταλιν ,το παρκεσιν και άλλα.
Το φατουράν είναι εξαιρετικά σπάνιο σήμερα
καθώς έχει πάψει να παράγεται και αγνοείται
πλέον ο ακριβής τρόπος παρασκευής του .

σε αρκετά €€€ .
Όλα αυτά «με ένα κόκκο αλάτι» ,
διότι μπορεί και να κάνω λάθος .
Με μία μόνο (μάλλον κακής ποιότητας)
φωτογραφία δεν είναι ασφαλής η

Faturan, or faturan amber is an amberoid, namely a synthetic material imitating amber, invented in the late 1700's by the Egyptian chemist Faturan.
The main reason for this invention, as with other materials imitating amber, was the scarcity, high price and fragility of the Arabic region amber, reasons that made difficult the use of amber for prayer beads.
The exact composition of this material was and remains unknown, and the mystery surrounding it contributes to the legend created and to the appreciation of this material among collectors.
It is believed that among the ingredients there are powdered amber, mastic resin, frankincense, turpentine, natural dyes, such as wine, and phenol resin, a component of bakelite.
Faturan was a favourite material for prayer and worry beads mainly in Egypt, Turkey and Greece. Its production stopped in 1940, due to World War II and the original formula has not been reproduced ever since. This is reason that this material is today hard to find and collectible.
Μπορώ να πω ότι εξεπλάγην, δεν περίμενα τέτοια τροπή! (περισσότερο προς τη λαβή παρά το θύσανο). Όσον αφορά τη κατάσταση του πινέλου δεν μπορώ να δώσω πληροφορίες καθώς μόνο αυτή τη φωτογραφία έχω και εγώ. Μόλις μπορέσω να ταξιδέψω πάλι θα το δω και από κοντά. Οστόσο θέλω να μάθω όσα περισσότερα μπορώ. Δεν γνώριζα αυτά τα στοιχεία για το faturan και σε ευχαριστώ πολύ, πραγματικά είναι εξαιρετική γνώση.
ΓΙα τη χαρακιά που αναφέρεις θα ρωτήσω μήπως μπορώ να μαθω από που προήλθε, όμως όσον αφορά τη κατάσταση του πινέλου τι μπορούμε να κάνουμε για να συντηρηθεί ή να βελτιωθεί;
