Είχα στείλει email στο φίλο μου :megagrin τον αμερικάνο για την επιδιόρθωση αυτού του ξυραφιού και η απαντησή του ήταν η εξής:
"Hi Elias~So good to hear from you~Hope you & yours are fine & well~We are doing well, just busy as bees as usual.

big grin What a great thing to find your dad's razor of his youth~I have seen razors such as this in the past, however, there's usually no way to tell the name of the manufacturer without any markings on the razor itself~During the Era, when Gillette DEs were just coming out, many companies tried to copy Gillette's design in order to make profit as well~Therefore, this type razor is usually called a Gillette Clone. Unfortunately, these Clones were generally made with cheaper materials, than the Gillette company used, causing them to wear out at a much quicker rate~This seems to be the problem with your razor~You could possibly clean it up some yourself, but in reality, it probably would not be worthy of the expense to send it to us to have restored~I say this because, the metals used are normally a much lower grade metal & when we start the Restoration Process, the thin layer of Plating used, will normally wear away, leaving only an unfortunate brassed Razor!:( sad
Though All Hope is Not lost, I can give you some pointers on what to do, to improve the looks of it~However, the mechanical issues probably can not be corrected. It seems it has become warped in a way thru the many years of storage~Also a result of the less expensive materials used to manufacture it. You may can slight press on the parts, to see if it will form back to it's original form, however this is real risky~in that, you may make it worse doing this.
You can clean it up though~Simply using the Helpful Hints sheet, we included with your purchase~I will attach it below this message, in case you have misplaced the sheet~You will want to clean it with a soft toothbrush & some dishwashing liquid. We have found Dawn Brand Dishwashing liquid to be the best. You can then boil the razor~Following the instruction on the Helpful Hints sheet ~following this, you will need to purchase some Polish~MAAS is a good one, there should be a reference to a supplier on ebay on the HH Sheet as well. Simply hand polish the razor with a MicroFiber Cloth, the supplier usually includes one with your purchase of MAAS as a free gift. After Polishing & wiping it down well, go again to the Soft Toothbrush & Dawn to clean any residue~You should see an Extreme Improvement of the Looks of your Keepsake Razor!

happy
We do hope this will help you~If there were any hope in my mind, that the razor would be worthy of the expense of shipping it & then the cost of Restoration, we would glad have you send it~However, we wouldn't want you to have to invest so much money in something, that probably will not be worthy of the costs. We hope you can understand, we are looking out for you.
Also, the time frame, right now, we are so swamped with Consignment Sales, we actually have not been taking ANY restoration work, due to it taking us so long to get the Razors returned~Our time is so spent, we barely have time to eat or sleep~Not complaining, as we truly feel Blessed by God who has blessed our business so abundantly thru consignment sales & Our Ebay site!
I feel certain, that you can make the razor look as good as I could, being it doesn't have the Underlying Materials to work with~you understand? If you do, clean it up yourself, I would love to see the After Photos of your work~I am sure it will look much nicer~And at least be a treasure to add to your Razor Collection, full of lifetime memories~
Thank you for understanding & If we can help you with anything else, ever~Please do let us know~Again, I will add the Helpful Hints sheet below this message~
Keep In Touch & Take Care~You & Your Family will be continually in our Prayers~Blessings, Laney & Quinton"
